IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EQUATOR PRINCIPLES
1. Perfect the system and standardize the E&S risk management system according to EP
Bank of Huzhou (hereinafter BOH) enacted a bank-wide management method on carrying out EP projects, standardized the access threshold and management system of EP projects, and perfected the current credit & service management system according to EP4. Therefore, the internal environment and E&S risk management level of BOH have been reinforced.
2.Establish an operating system to manage EP projects intelligently and comprehensively
BOH developed an IT operating system, further improved standardization extent on the management process of EP projects, and made an integration between EP management process and BOH’s internal credit management system, upgrading the quality and effect of management. Meanwhile, BOH utilized tools and management methods presented by EP on E&S risk, combining considerations on BOH’s customer & asset structure, BOH built the simplified process which stressed compliance management and covered all corporate loans.
3. Reinforce capacity building and emphasize training on EP and ability to management of E&S risk
BOH organized multilevel training on EP and E&S risk management, hired domestic authoritative experts as BOH’s green finance counselors to promote management level. As to training on customer managers, for the purpose of enhancing the practical ability and improving capacity on operating the IT system mentioned above, over 30 trainings for customer managers was hold, where more than 2,000 people were trained. BOH set green finance professionals in branches, as to training on green finance professionals, for the purpose of enhancing EP recognition and improving green finance management capacity, over 20 trainings was hold, which themes on green finance and understanding of EP3 and later EP4. All employees in BOH got an average of 30 hours of training in the year of 2020.
4. Enhance cooperation, lay the foundation of all-process management system on EP projects
Based on EP requirements, after the establishment of all-process management system, BOH implemented experimental all-process management to 2 A-categorized EP projects. In the process management, BOH hired an independent E&S consultant company to help it with due diligence and all-process management, and BOH has acquired practical experience for the comprehensive and in-depth management of EP projects in 2021.
