Implementation of the Equator Principles
EIFO Implementation
The Equator Principles are part of EIFO’s ESG Policy. EIFO’s ESG department carries the overall responsibility for the implementation of the ESG policy, which is revised in alternate years and is subject to approval by EIFO’s Board.
The ESG department consists of [update if needed] environmental and social sustainability consultants, forming part of EIFO’s Policy and ESG division. All environmental and social sustainability consultants hold mandates as Equator Principles Reviewers.
Further details about EIFO’s implementation of the EPs are provided in EIFO’s public EP report and on EIFO’s website.
Independent Review of Equator Principles Implementation
In line with the requirements under the Equator Principles (EP), EIFO initiated an internal review of its EP implementation in 2023 as preparation for future independent reviews. The purpose of an EP Review is to assess whether internal procedures ensure compliance with the ten principles of the EP framework and, in doing so, enhance consistency, transparency, and credibility in implementation.
In 2025, EIFO continued to build on this work by further operationalising its internal EP review processes. The internal peer review approach, whereby ESG colleagues review each other’s projects, has been maintained and further refined. This has contributed to strengthening consistency in the application of the EP framework and identifying areas for continued improvement in EIFO’s due diligence processes.
EIFO will continue to develop its approach to independent review in line with EP guidance and evolving best practice.
